One day last year on my extended stay in Ibiza I came across a deserted beach, quite a rarity in Ibiza I know, but it was in the north of the island, far away from the tourist traps and the loud booming clublands.  It was an exquisitely beautiful stretch of beach just past the adorable village of Portinatx.  The drive down to it was a slow rumbling pot holed marked safari, but when we arrived on this beautiful beach, or breath was taken away.  The ochre red cliffs stood proudly at each side of this beach, the natural v of the shoreline secluded it from the rest of the coast.  I quickly took out my sketch book and watercolour pencils and recorded vividly everything I saw.  The strawberries that we packed for our picnic were unpacked from their cold receptacle and we fed them to each other.  A bottle of crisp white wine was uncorked and we sat sipping, can't quite believing we were on our own.  We drank in the view, the feeling of the warm sand on our skin and the taste of fresh luscious strawberries in our mouths.  When I returned to my studio, this hand rolled merino handbag was the result of my experiences that day.  Vanilla smiles and gorgeous strawberry kisses! This beautiful warm toned Rubyruby bag is handrolled from merino with squares of prefelt felted in to create a mosaic texture on the body of the bag.  Lined in vintage velvet in sahara sand colour the bag radiates a warm and calm persona.  A carved mother of pearl rose hangs on the side of the handbag nestling next to vintage buttons and glass beads.  I hope that you get lots of strawberry kisses and vanilla smiles when you use this glorious handbag. These handbags take about one week to finish to a very high standard, these are art pieces.

This beautiful larger sized handbag was inspired by the gorgeous beach at Es Cubells in the south of the island of Ibiza.  The beautiful red earth cliffs here meet with the crystal clear waters and the contrast is wonderful.  Red earth, warm yellow sand and lush green vegetation meld together in a wonderful swirl of colour and this is depicted in the hand layering of the felt colours and the combining of the merino and wensleydale in the hand felting process.  The handrolled merino is felted with locally sourced wensleydale fleece (from happy and free range sheep) and then hand dyed by me in my studio overlooking the sea .  The handbag was then embellished with azure blue sequins to signify the tiny reflections of sun on the warm ocean, vintage mother of pearl buttons and indian glass beads.  A large cluster of vintage tiger's eye semi precious stones nestles on the body of the bag.  Luxurious animal print silk velvet lines the handbag and also makes the handles.  Bold luxuriant handles that have been handstitched twice with strong thread to ensure quality.  This handbag is part of the exclusive Ibiza collection.  Inspired by sketches and colour washes taken from a trip to Ibiza in October last year, this limited collection have a mother of pearl gecko sewn onto the handbag.>.
